RICK MOORE (Birthplace; Plainfield, NJ - 1954) Rick played the organ, clarinet and drums as child and began performing professionally after graduating from high school. Rick studied classical piano with Keith McDonald, Jazz improvisation with Fred Amend, and Jazz piano with Sal Mosca in Mount Vernon, NY (1975–85). While living in NJ, Rick worked on the solo piano restaurant circuit and performed in Jazz groups with Vinnie Burke, Vic Juris, Judy Niemack, Don Messina, Fred Amend & Joshua Breakstone.
In 1986, Rick relocated to WPB, FL and played long-term engagements @ the International Polo Club, Bear Lakes, Jupiter Island Club, Sailfish Club, Mar-a- Lago, Everglades Club, Club Colette, Mariner Sands, Loblolly, Breakers West, Bath & Tennis Club, Turtle Creek, Tequesta CC, Admirals Cove and many other venues throughout South Florida. Rick participated in concert performances @ the Kravis Center for the Performing Arts, Lyric Theater, Arts Garage & Watchung Arts Center (NJ). In 2009, Rick made a series of solo piano recordings at Echo Beach Studio under the direction of Paul Bley.
In 2012, Rick and Cherie Moore founded the Jupiter Jazz & Performing Arts Society, Inc. For the next 7 years, they hosted weekly Jazz jam sessions in Stuart and at the legendary Double Roads Tavern. During this period, Rick was very active performing on stage in various genres with Lou Gramm (Foreigner) Phill Fest, Yvette Norwood-Tiger, Keith Jones, Nicholas Biello, Jérôme Degey, Greg Diaz, Theo Peoples, Clifton Davis, Gregg Jackson, Randy Johnston, Jay Beckenstein, Phil DiRe, Maurice Frank, Gary Levy and Larry Meyer.
To this day, Rick continues to perform with his own Bossa Jazz ensemble and solo piano engagements. He also freelances with numerous bands and musicians. As a piano soloist, Rick mainly works out of the Great American Songbook repertoire but is comfortable in other genres. Rick can be heard on CD recordings with Yvette Norwood Tiger, Ava Faith & Phil DeRi and on his own CDs.Thanks
